Thursday August 18

We started with Google Docs, which works great. The funny thing is that I forgot that I have a friend who has been using google docs. with some documents we have been sharing, and I have forgot all about it. I am planning on using the test part of google docs.
And I agree with Jorge, he know why a fire will go out!!
The lesson sharing went great! The group that shared did a great job. Our groups lesson I will use a form of...

This was a great day, Plus I didn't have a migrane like yesterday!!

Wednesday August 16th

The moation lab gave me some ideas that I could use for my 7th grade science class, I would have touring it down. It was fun to use my brain again. Now I just need to get a few motion probes! (yeah Dave the ESD has some).

The photosynthesis discussion gave me some ideas that I hope to use. It was good to hear the"teacher talk" about 1.9% cut and how different districts dealt with it.

Tuesday August 16th

I really liked the rocket unit demo... they had some great ideas and made it fun.
Tim's ice and boiling was really great too. I like doing the hands on testing and graphing and discussing with the group what worked and what didn't work. The icecream was great too (tasted great and froze up nice).

The photosynthesis was great, a lot of the things they talked about, I started doing variations last year and everything really worked great.

Thanks- see you tomorrow!!

Thursday

1. I learned that I don't like to present in front of a class of my peers (always seems that I get picked)

2.

3. I have done both of the afternoon experiments in classrooms and they both are very good labs. Too bad they are both 6th grade kits.

Wednesday

1. I learned that sometimes it is easier to go low tech than high tech-- took 2 hrs to get 8 heart rates and 8 respiration rates.

2. I would think for heart rate and respiration, it would be easier to get items like a bloodpressure cuff and or heart monitors from PE dept to do these. Other items like ph probe, you would be better off to use the probe..

3. I learned that for some classroom uses, tech is not always easy... (and I am a former computer teacher)

Tuesday

I don't know the questions for today-- I had to leave at lunch for my son's knee surgery. This morning went well! The math was a little over my head, but with the help of a calculator, I could manage it. We went a little fast on our NaOH drip, so it turned a pink fast. I will get with my partner tomorrow to find out what I missed.
